About
Anne-Sophie Vallée is a multi-disciplinary artist originally from Sherbrooke, Québec, with a background as a jeweller and a metalsmith. Her practice focuses primarily on craft-based disciplines and reflects on the strong connection between the maker's body and the existence of things. She owns a diploma in Applied Arts from Cégep du Vieux-Montréal and a BFA from NSCAD University, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her latest work addresses the participation of things in the work’s final form and its interactions with the self as part of a process-based approach to making wearable and sculpture. Vallée has shown work across Canada and in cities such as Paris, Barcelona, Chicago and Seoul. She currently lives and works in Halifax.
